What a fun idea! It's like a sophisticated version of the loft beds we used to have in college dorms that you would put a desk under--except in this case the bed actually lowers when you're ready to crawl in. Love it. -Julia :-)

That's pretty sweet! What a space saver. I wonder what kind of supports you need for something like this. I doubt I'd actually put on in my house but I like the ingenuity.

Wow. That brings back some forgotten memories. My ex-husband was all about the Tivoli Audio radio. We had two of these, one in the office and he moounted one in the car. Real nice.Definitely recommended if you're in the market for a good radio :-)

When we got married and bought a new house, we had furniture from our two condos to fill it with. Strangely, we've used mostly my pieces as some of his stuff still sits in storage at his mom's house. Our new house is more traditional and we couldn't find a suitable place for the glass top table and chrome chairs. If we don't end up putting it in the basement, there's always Craigslist!

A lot that I made out of found objects!

I will never live in a house that has a "set" of matching furniture. It's too cookie-cutter for me... It does require some creativity to make everything mesh well together though!

We do... I'm trying to "see" it all in new eyes and make it fit us!

I think I have our bed figured out... it's a 1980's water bed frame with drawers underneath. I THINK I'm going to plane down the panels on the drawers so they are flat, replace the ugly brass hardware with stainless steel, paint the whole bed that brownish black color, and find or make a slab headboard... I think when I'm done it will look like one of those super fancy platform beds!

I'm having trouble visuallizing the ugly black tube metal futon frame as anything cool right now, though...
